Abstract

From data obtained in the SDNN 010 KijangMakmurkec. TapungHilir in the
academic year 2009/2010 that the results of studying Indonesian language of students
grade 5 in the material is still relatively low simple dialog with the average of 58 this
is caused by instructional media that have not been able to make the students active
and difficulty of the material. Therefore, need to apply the use of instructional media
that can improving students’ learning activities to make students participate actively,
ask questions, discuss, and learn with enthusiasm through classroom action research
or PTK to improve learning by implementing the use of cartoon media. Research was
conducted in August to September 2010 in SDN 010 KijangMakmurkec. TapungHilir
the subject of this research is the 5 grade students who numbered 34 in the academic
year 2010/2011.
Parameters measured in this study were student activities, teacher activities,
the learning and mastery learning, learning tools consist of the syllabus, learning
implementation plan (RPP). Student worksheet (LKS), media cartoon. Instruments
collecting data obtained in this study in about post test, observation of student activity
sheets and teacher activities. Before the application of the use of cartoon media
average value 58 with the percentage of students’ cognitive classical thoroughness of
42.86% and after that the application of media used cartoons to classical
thoroughness 69.61 with 79.41% in cycle 1, then increased to 79.41% with classical
completeness 94.12% in cycle 2. Activity level students has increased from 70.15%
in cycle 1 and increased by 83.24% in cycle. From the result of this study concluded
that the use of cartoon media increase the activity and student learning Indonesian
language of 5th grade students as SDN 010 KijangMakmur in academic year
2010/2011 on a simple dialogue material.
