Abstract
PT. Timah Tbk (Persero) Unit Laut Bangka is a subsidiary company ofPT. Timah Tbk (Persero) engaged in tin mining around ocean of Bangka Island.PT. Timah Tbk (Persero) Unit Laut Bangka has 3 units dredgers and 3 unitssuction Ship, one of them is Kapal Hisap Permis.Kapal Hisap Permis, started production December 31, 2008 in oceanBangka Island with method mining is suround the work plan repeatedly until itreaches bedrock mining. Mining process Kapal Hisap Permis, started from Cutterwhich has a function to destroy the material and material sucked pump thematerial to be sent up the ship to do the separation process.Tin ore separation process Kapal Hisap Permis, performed on the rotaryfilter, Jig Primary, Secondary Jig, and Sakhan. Minerals taken into the rotary filterwill be separated according to size of the minerals, minerals that are large willcome out into oversized and small-sized mineral drops to Undersize and into theupper Jig. In Jig Primary and Secondary, Tin minerals will be separated based ondifferences in density. Minerals that have a heavy weight of its kind will drop toUnderSize and minerals that have a specific gravity of light will go out intooversized. The last separation process conducted on Sakhan with the help ofmanpower, mineral on the Sakhan will be stirred while the water flowed, so thatthe minerals that have a lighter specific gravity will float into Tailling and tinmineral will live to be concentrated, because it has a specific gravity the bigest.Of exciting discoveries in the field, the authors tried to improve therecovery Laundering In Jig and Sakhan by doing some improvements such asreducing the , regulate water flow and a constant insistence to be back on theinsistence of laundering. Of these improvements, the authors succeeded inimproving Recovery jigs from 89% to 96% and Recovery sakhan from 49%become 60%.
