Abstract

This research analyzed the form and meaning of derivational affixes in the headline articles of Jakarta Post Newspaper (Published on January 2021) by using Leech‟s theory to analyzed the meaning of the derivational affixes. The researcher used descriptive research method. The data in this research was five headline articles in the Jakarta Post Newspaper (published on January 2021). The headline articles were downloaded from the intermet in the website www.jakartapost.com. . The result of the study reveals that there are 70 words and 89 meaning of the derivational process that found in Jakarta Post Newspaper. Suffixes is the most dominant form in this research than prefixes, there are 66 time times (94.28%). However, in meaning of derivational affixes in this research the most dominant types of meaning in this research is conceptual meaning, there are 74 times (83.15%).
