Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still employees who have not shown optimal performance at the Department of Education and Culture of Lima Puluh Kota Regency, which is suspected to be caused by low motivation, lack of effective communication, weak cooperation, and low work responsibility. The study aims to determine the level of motivation, openness in communication between leaders and employees, responsibility in completing tasks, as well as cooperation among employees. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a population of 122 employees and a sample of 97 people, determined using the Slovin formula and proportionate random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert Scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity (calculated r > 0.444) and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha 0.967 > 0.60). The results of the study indicate that employee performance falls into the good category with an average score of 3.94 and a TCR of 78.88%. The motivation aspect is considered good (77.59%), communication is very good (85.75%), work good cooperation (63.45%), and very good responsibility (88.72%).
