Bentuk Penyajian dan Sistem Pewarisan Tari Piriang di Ateh Talua Kanagarian Batu Bajanjang Kabupaten Solok.

Piriang di Ateh Talua dance is one of original traditional dance from WestSumatera especially in Batu Bajanjang village, Solok Regency. Piriang di AtehTalua dance narrate about an uncle’s role in carrying out his duty. Besides as acounsel for an uncle, this dance also remains society about the customs of theirregion.This research employs descriptive qualitative method which focuses ondance performance and inheritance form of Piriang di Ateh Talua dance in BatuBajanjang village, Solok Regency. Data collection technique used is observation,interview, and documentation which is aim to obtain data from informant in thefield. Data analysis is based on Miles and Huber man which consist of three steps;determining data reduction, data display, and verification.The finding of the research finds that the form of Piriang di Ateh Taluadance has symbolic exhibition form because the exhibition of Piriang di AtehTalua dance is a symbolic expression. Piriang di ateh talua dance succession crisisoccurs since the heir doubts to decide who the heirs is. The heir will bequeath thedance to the heirs who have fulfilled criteria as the heirs. This inheritance issuewill impact toward the preservation of Piriang di Ateh Talua dance whichendangered. The dance preservation effort has been made by teaching the dancefrom teacher- student and through deployment so that the dance still exists untilnowadays.
