The Values of Character Education on Novel of Mengurai Rindu by Nang Syamsuddin

This research is motivated by a variety of cases that occurred in Indonesia recently. Corruption and violence against children from year to year has increased. The case indicates the absence of the character inside offender. To minimize these cases required the planting of value of character education since the early. Literary works such as the novel contains various conflicts that can be resolved by the adoption of values of character education. The values of character education can be absorbed from the novel. Novel that has value of character education is novel Megurai Rindu by Nang Syamsuddin. The purpose of this study is to explain the depiction value of character education caring, honest, intelligent, and resilient in the novel Mengurai Rindu by Nang Syamsuddin. This type of study is a qualitative study using content analysis method. Approach to literary works used in this study ia a mimetic approach. Data in this study are figures of speech and action figures contained in the exposure narrator novel Mengurai Rindu by Nang Syamsuddin. Data were collected later in the identification and classification based on the theory used. Any further data collected based on the indication values of character education discussed one by one. The results of this study indicate that there is a character education values contained in the novel Mengurai Rindu by Nang Syamsuddin. Data found is; (1) there are 34 data containing values of honest character education, (2) there are 12 data containing values of character education intelligent, (3) there are 47 data containing values of character education caring, (4) and there are 12 data containing values of resilient character education. Based on the results of this study concluded that the value of character aducation are most often found in the novel Mengurai Rindu is values of character education caring.
