Abstract

This research was influenced by student learning motivation which is still in low level. The level of acceptance by peer and self-concept were external and internal factors that affect students learning motivation. This research aims to describe: (1) students peer acceptance level, (2) students self-concept, (3) students learning motivation, (4) contribution of peer acceptance level toward students learning motivation, (5) contribution of self-concept toward students learning motivation, and (6) contribution of peer acceptance level and self-concept towards students learning motivation. This research using descriptive quantitative approach. The population were the students of grade XI which numbered 324 students, samples were 179 students and selected by proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple regression, and multiple regression. (2) The results of this research: (1) students peer acceptance level was on high category, students self-concept was on high category, (3) students learning motivation was on high category, (4) there is a contribution of peer acceptance level to the students learning motivation amount 29% (R = 0.538, on significance 0.000), (5) there is a contribution of self-concept to the students learning motivation amount 37.2% (R = 0.610, on significance 0.000), and (6) there are contribution peer acceptance level and self-concept to the students learning motivation amount 44.8% (R = 0.670, on significance 0.000). The implications of the research results can be used as inputs for making program of guidance and counseling services especially in direction of social-self and learning.
