Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, especially the internet, often has various positive and negative impacts on users, especially teenagers. The positive impact of the development of information technology includes accelerating someone to obtain the information they want and making it easier for someone to do a job, besides the negative impact of the development of information technology actually causes many teenagers to become victims of sexual crime. The rise of pornography cases is increasingly alarming, threatening the realm of education and social life. Such a situation is very worrying, because it involves religious and moral issues that can damage the next generation. Therefore, the improvement of self image is very necessary to be done so that the next generation can display a good self-image in accordance with the values and norms that exist in the community. The purpose of this development research is to describe: (1) the self-image of students in class XI SMA, (2) the effectiveness of information services carried out by counselors to improve students' self-image in the prevention of pornographic tendencies in the eleventh grade of high school, and (3) the validity and practicality of information services to increase self-image in the prevention of pornographic tendencies in class XI SMA. This study uses a development method commonly called Research and development (R & D) by following the steps in developing 4-D (Define, Design, Development and Desseminate). The study population was grade XI students at the Padang High School, with the sampling technique using Proportional Random Sampling, which amounted to 107 students. This research instrument uses a model Likert scale. The results showed that: (1) the majority of students had a high level of self image and the rest were in the medium category, (2) based on the effectiveness test obtained that the use of guidelines had an influence on improving students' self image in the prevention of pornography, and (3) guidelines the improvement of students' self-image in the prevention of pornography through this information service is assessed according to the content and appearance and the level of use of the guide is used by counselor. Thus a guide to improving students' self-image in the prevention of pornography through information services is appropriate to be used by counselors and students
