Abstract

Based on field observations, it was observed that Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Elementary School Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam were still not good. Researchers speculate that Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision contributed toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Elementary School Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam, therefore it was necessary to conduct a research to test its truth. This research was intended to reveal teacher commitment contribution toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Elementary School Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam, to reveal the Principal Supervision toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Elementary School Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam, and to reveal Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision simultaneously toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Elementary School Kecamatan Tanjung Raya. The hypothesis tested in this study are: (1) Teacher Commitment contributed to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation, (2) Principal Supervision contributed to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation, (3) Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision simultaneously toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation. The research population were all of the teachers of Elementary School di Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam, with a total sample of 210. Research sample amounted to 73 people were selected using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research data were collected by questionnaire Likert scale models that have tested the validity and reliability. Data were analyzed with correlation and regression techniques. The results showed that: (1) Teacher Commitment contributed to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation of 25,4 %, (2) Principal Supervision contributed to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation of 21,2%, (3) Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision simultaneously toward Teachers’ Tasks Implementation of 40,3%. Based on the results of descriptive analysis shows that Teacher Commitment was in good category, Principal Supervision was in good category, and Teachers’ Tasks Implementation in good category as well. Teacher Commitment and the Principal Supervision are two important factors that contribute to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation in addition to other factors that could not be ignored that also contribute to Teachers’ Tasks Implementation at Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Tanjung Raya Kabupaten Agam hat had not examined in this study.
