Abstract

PT. Timah (Persero) Tbk Kundur Production Unit is a unit of production that mines tin in the sea using dredgers and cutter suction dredges, one of them uses 19 Bangka 2 Dredger, which has a capacity of 22 Cuft bucket. The method that is used by 19 Bangka 2 Dredger is short face mining which works under excavation by dividing into slices with a length of 30 meters. It is used a combination systemwhich is the incorporation of advanced system andpress system. Based on field observations and calculations performed on the data that had been collected, theexcavation efficiency was only at 91% of the topsoil with the rate of earth moving of 650.194 m3/ h, while the efficiency of the kaksaexcavation earthworks by 45.71% with the rate earth moving of 193.064 m3/ hour. It showed the efficiency of the excavation was not optimal / ideal. One of the ways to increase the efficiency is to increase the rate earth moving by maximizing filling bucket. In order to get a maximum filling bucket is to increase the speed of the wire sliding sideways and add depth emphasis ladder. Wire-speed data processing side is increased from 8 m / minute to 12.424 m / min and an emphasis ladder plus 0.26 m to 0.3 m at the excavation of top soil and kaksasoil plus 0.20 m to 0.3 m. Thus, the rate of earth moving on the excavation of top soil increased from 650.194 m3/ h to 714.49 m3/ h with efficiency increased to 108.67% from 98.89%, andthe rate of earth movingof the excavation of kaksatopsoil increased from 193.064 m3/ h to 337.85 m3/ h with the efficiency increased to 88% from 29.36%.
