Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. mining unit of Tanjung Enim has done mining, activity with surface mining system, which use open pit mining method so it makes a cavity. The big problem based on open pit mining method is rainwater and groudwater. In PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk, while rainwater upcoming, it causes sump flooded. In under sump, there is coal area, so needs water level control before one day the coal is mined and debit water is not worrisome.
Based on rainfall data analysis in 2007 until 2016, the rain design was
135,6 mm/day, rainfall intensity was 188,11 mm/hour and return period of rain was 10 years. In research location obtained that catchment area was 96,19 Ha, debit total to sump was 61.648.692 m3/day. Based on pump capacity that was
19.140 m3/day could not pump water to sump, so needed adding pump to pump all
water to come out from mining area with capacity is about 33.340 m3/day.
