Abstract

Indonesia is a rich country in natural resources extractive minerals, one of themis coal. Coal is one source of minerals commodities. The spread of coal almost evenlyalong the island of Sumatra, there are so many projects of coal mining, one of them isPT. Artamulia Tatapratama, located in Tanjung Belit Village, district of Jujuhan,Muaro Bungo, Jambi. This companies used the open pit mining methods.In the process of mining work in PT. Artamulia Tatapratama, the mine roadconstruction is an important thing that must be considered to support the smoothproduction. Some things to consider in the construction of the mine road is the roadgeometry, ground pressure, as well as safety aspects. Some things in the constructionof the mine road is not match the standards. This is evident from some of the problemarising in the field with respect to the geometry of the road and haul road safety, suckas the lack of wide haul road, wich climbs too hight, and the absence of cross slopethat makes water is not flowing so the road becomes muddy. Of the circumstance inthe field, the author tries to evaluate the haul roads so smooth production process andimprove workplace safety.From the analysis of the data making up to do, then obtained a minimum widthof haul road for two straight lines is 19 m. While on the street corner having aminimum width of 21 m. The maximum slope that can be bypassed by dump truck is10%. Cross slope is authorized in 40mm/m, if more higher from this, it willdangerous for vehicle, but if it is too flat will cause a lot of permeation of water intothe road surface.
