Abstract

This study discusses the level of flood threat in the city of Padang using the scoring method. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of flood disaster threat, and to determine the distribution of the flood threat level in the city of Padang. This type of research is a descriptive research using a quantitative approach. In determining the level of flood threat using parameters, namely, geomorphology, altitude, rainfall, soil type, land use, left-right river slopes, drainage, and water structures. The location of this research was conducted in the city of Padang which consists of 11 districts. Based on the results of the research conducted, the following conclusions can be drawn. First, the result is that the level of flood threat in Padang City is divided into three categories, namely high, medium, and low classes. Second, the distribution of the low flood threat level is 15.95% or an area of 3537.41 hectares spread over 7 subdistricts in Padang City. The level of moderate flood threat is 18.52% or an area of 4107.17 hectares spread over 9 sub-districts in Padang City. The level of high flood threat is 65.52% or an area of 14530.13 Ha spread over 10 sub-districts in Padang City
