An Analysis of Learning Style during Pandemic used by Fourth Year Students of English Language and Literature Department in Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the dominant learning style that students used before the covid-19 pandemic and during the covid-19 pandemic. Also, to find out if there were differences in the learning styles students used before the covid-19 pandemic and during the covid-19 pandemic in students fourth of the English language and literature department in Padang State University. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive. The population was English literature and education students for the 2021/2022 academic year who experienced two learning situations: before covid-19 and during covid-19. The researcher used purposive sampling to determine the research subject. Researchers took 40 from the population. The researcher used a questionnaire created through a google form and distributed to each class leader. The results of the findings were that out of 40 students, before the covid-19 pandemic, 20 (50%) students used visual language as their major learning style. In contrast, during the covid-19 pandemic, out of 40 students, 26 (65%) students tend to use auditory language as their major learning style. It was found that there was a change in the dominant type of learning style that students used before the COVID-19 pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely visual language into auditory language. Based on the research above, students experience changes in their dominant learning style based on the situation they experience.
