Abstract

This research is intended to find out the effect of problem solving and problem solving combined by concept mapping on interest. The Experimental research design which was used NonRandomized Control-Group Pretest–Posttest with three treatments, namely: A, traditional method (control group); B, problem solving method; and C, pemecahan masalah intervened by concept mapping. The instruments which were used to collect data was qoesonare. The data were analyzed by using covariance analysis technique (ANACOVA) and LSD test. In addition, SPSS 10 for Windows was used to analyze the data. The result of the research showed that there was significant difference on students’ average score of interest toward the material and teaching method among three treatment classes. From LSD test result for each variable, it was known that for interest toward the material, C class score was higher than that of B and A class, but B class score was not higher than A class, and for interest toward the teaching method, the highest score was C class, followed by B class, and then A class
