Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine differences in learning strategies and emotional intelligence of the child‟s basic motor skills in the elementary school classroom V Padang. In particular; differences in exploration learning strategies with the command of the emotional intelligence of children of high and low The study was conducted in an elementary school in the city of Padang in the academic year 2010/2011, apply the experimental method with 2x2 factorial design and 82 children in the sample. The results are as follows: (1) exploration of learning strategy is better than the command of the basic movement skills of children as a whole, (2) There is interaction between learning strategies and emotional intelligence, (3) exploration of learning strategy is better than the command of the basic movement skills of children who have high emotional intelligence, and (4) learning strategy command better than the exploration of basic motor skills children who have low emotional intelligence
