Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 31 Padang Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017 yang memiliki pemahaman konsep matematika yang rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya partisipasi aktif peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran, serta mereka tidak fokus untuk memahami konsep yang diajarkan. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) dapat dijadikan solusi untuk permasalahan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika peserta didik yang belajar dengan Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS lebih baik daripada yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional pada kelas VIII SMPN 31 Padang Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Static Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 31 Padang dengan sampel kelas VIII.3 dan VIII.4. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang berbentuk soal essay. Data kemampuan pemahaman konsep dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t satu pihak. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh P-value = 0,00 < α = 0,005, maka disimpulan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Tipe TSTS lebih baik daripada yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional di kelas VIII SMPN 31 Padang.L Education (General)QA Mathematics2018-01Universitas Negeri padang;Pdd.
