        <dc:description>Rendahnya hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Sutera disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, salah satunya adalah proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat kepada guru sehingga siswa belum terlibat secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan juga masih kekurangan dalam memiliki buku, untuk meningkatkan keaktifan proses pembelajaran diberikan berbagai model pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Siswa belum memiliki sumber belajar yang mencukupi untuk belajar. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal ini adalah dengan cara memberikan handout agar siswa termotivasi untuk belajar dan memahami materi yang akan dipelajari dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian handout dalam model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Pesisir Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2011/2012. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Sutera. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga diperoleh sampel yaitu kelas VIII3 dan kelas VIII4. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah tes objektif sebanyak 36 butir. Data diolah dengan menggunakan uji t,dengan kriteria jika thitung &gt; ttabel hipotesis diterima, dan sebaliknya jika thitung &lt; tabel hipotesis ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh thitung 4,23 dan ttabel 1,67 (thitung &gt; ttabel atau 4,23 &gt; 1,67). Rata-rata nilai kelas eksperimen74,70 lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol 63,13</dc:description>
