Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan hubungan motivasi berprestasi(X) dengan kemampuan pemasangan dasar instalasi listrik(Y) siswa kelas X Teknik Listrik di SMK Karya Pariaman. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas X Teknik Listrik Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012 yang telah menyelesaikan mata diklat PDIL sebanyak 48 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket (kuesioner) mengenai motivasi berprestasi. Untuk menguji validitas angket digunakan teknik Korelasi Product moment. Dari hasil analisis korelasi antara motivasi berprestasi dengan hasil kemampuan PDIL diperoleh nilai rhitung 0,583, dengan kriteria cukup tinggi. Nilai  t hitung &gt; t tabel (4,86 &gt; 1,679), maka Ho ditolak. Artinya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan Motivasi berprestasi dengan kemampuan pemasangan dasar instalasi listrik mata diklat PDIL siswa kelas X Teknik Listrik di SMK Karya Pariaman Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi dengan kemampuan PDIL sebesar 33,98%, dan sisanya 66,02% dipengaruhi faktor lain.</dc:description>
