Salah satu kebutuhan pangan adalah padi. Padi akan menghasilkan beras setelah melalui proses pemisahan sekam. Masalah yang dihadapi saat ini adalah pertambahan jumlah penduduk mengakibatkan konsumsi beras meningkat, sedangkan luas lahan sawah semakin berkurang sehingga dapat mengancam produksi padi di Sumatera Barat menurun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan model ARIMA dari data jumlah produksi padi di Sumatera Barat dan menentukan perkiraan jumlah produksi padi di Sumatera Barat tahun 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ARIMA. Beberapa asumsi yang harus dipenuhi dalam metode ini adalah data bersifat stasioner, variabel yang digunakan merupakan variabel tunggal (univariat), antara pengamatan secara statistik memiliki hubungan (dependen), dan nilai autokorelasi tidak berbeda nyata dari nol. Setelah melalui tahap identifikasi model, penaksiran dan pengujian parameter, dan tahap diagnostik, maka diperoleh model ARIMA (2,1,0) (2,1,3) sebagai model yang cocok untuk meramalkan produksi padi di Sumatera barat dengan bentuk model = − 0.0516 + 0,0519 + 2,5505 + 0,08 − 0,0805 − 2,7625 − 0,0626 + 0,0629 + 1,8732 + 0,0341 − 0,0343 − 0,6612 − 2,1981 + 1,7229− 0,4779+ .
