Banjir yang terjadi pada Sungai Pagang ini terjadi hampir di setiap musim penghujan. Debit yang terlalu besar terjadi mengharuskan untuk terjadinya pekerjaan normalisasi. Dengan dasar pemikiran diatas maka proyek akhir ini diberi judul “Perencanaan Normalisasi Sungai Pagang Kecamatan Nanggalo Kota Padang”. Dalam melakukan Perhitungan Debit Sungai Pagang dan pengendalian banjir penulis menggunakan dua metode yaitu: metode. Dari hasil perhitungan debit banjir menggunakan metode Waduwen didapatkan nilai Q100 adalah 910,88 m3/dtk. Kemudian dari hasil perhitungan kapasitas penampang saluran normalisasi pada sungai Batang Surantiah didapatkan hasil 1191,742 m3/dtk. Maka dari hasil tersebut saluran mampu menampung debit banjir maksimum Sungai Pagang dalam periode kala ulang 100 tahunTC Hydraulic engineering.
