        <dc:description>The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of CIRC technique toward students‘ reading comprehension of procedure text and reading motivation. This research was quasi-experimental research. The design of this research was the posttest-only control group design. The population of this research was the students at grade XI automotive of SMK N1 Padang in academic year of 2012/2013. The researcher used cluster random sampling to select the samples. To collect the data the researcher used reading comprehension of procedure text tests and reading motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed manually by t-test formula. The findings of this research showed that (1) the students who were taught by using CIRC technique gave significant effect toward their reading comprehension of procedure text. (2) The students who were taught by using CIRC technique gave significant effect toward students‘ reading motivation. The findings show that CIRC technique can increases students‘ reading comprehension in procedure text and reading motivation. The elements of CIRC technique such as treasure hunt activity, heterogeneous group, individual accountability and group reward are considered as the effort for the findings. Thus, it can be drawn that CIRC technique gave significant effect toward students‘ reading comprehension of procedure text and reading motivation at grade XI automotive of SMK N 1Padang in academic year of 2012/2013.This research implied that CIRC technique could be used as one of technique in teaching reading at SMK N 1 Padang. Other researcher are suggested to conduct further research related to findings of this research by using other reading text and reading motivation indicators.</dc:description>
