Abstract
This paper explains the existence of traditional local knowledge society, especially in the face of the threat of volcanic disaster. During this time the local knowledge of the community is not being realized, so it is expected to disappear with the social changes in society, it is necessary to reinstitutionalization local knowledge through educational institutions. Reinstitutionalization can be a socio-economic capital and social capital, when the public face of the disaster and after a catastrophic volcanic. At the end of this paper the author tries to offer three strategies in order reinstitutionalization local knowledge as a part of the volcanic hazard mitigation
