Abstract

Mathematics and culture are things that cannot be separated. But many students still don't know this. In fact, learning carried out by linking culture and mathematics can increase students' interest and motivation in learning. However, existing tools still do not link mathematics and culture, even though they use contextual problems. For this reason, an integrated learning tool for Jambi Batik Ethnomathematics was developed. This research aims to develop an integrated Transformation Geometry learning tool for Jambi Batik Ethnomathematics in Class IX Middle School. The learning tools developed refer to transformation material. The quality of the devices developed is assessed based on aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research is a combination of ethnographic research and development research with the Plomp model which consists of stagesPreliminary, Prototyping andAssessment Phase. At the level ofPreliminaryCurriculum analysis, student analysis and concept analysis were carried out. StagePrototypingis the stage for designing learning tools consisting ofprototype1, prototype 2, prototype 3. Onprototype1 doneself evaluation andexpert review. Experts review.carried out in order to see the validity of the learning tools developed. Onprototype2 carried out one-on-one trials (One-to-One Evaluation) by testing validated devices on three students with different abilities. Onprototype3 trials were carried out on small groups by testing the devicewhich has been validated on six students with different abilities. The final stage ieassessment phase to see the effectiveness of learning tools by looking at student learning outcomes. The subjects of this research were class IX students of SMP Negeri 21 Batanghari. The results of this research show that the Jambi Batik Ethnomathematics integrated Transformation Geometry learning tool in Class IX Middle School is valid. The device also meets practical criteria based on the results of questionnaires and interviews. Based on the final tests carried out, it shows that the device is in the effective category. So, it can be concluded that the resulting device is valid, practical and effective.
