Abstract

This is a descriptive research which tried to find out the students’ subbject- verb agreement accuracy and errors in using the five rules of subject- verb agreement according to Azar and Hagen’s (2016). The students’ accuracy was classified by using Arikunto’s indicator. The sample were the students form 12th grade that were limited into 40 students. Those students were chosen randomly by using the lucky wheels. The instrument was a grammar test with 44 questions in form of multiple choice. The result shows that the students’ accuracy was 52% which categorized as ‘poor’. The next finding showed that the students made errors on all of those five types of subject- verb agreement rules by Azar and Hagen. The errors were; 27% in using basic subject- verb agreement, 22% in using expression of quantitiy, 21% in using some irregularities. 18% in using ending with –s/es and 12% in using there+ be
