Abstract

Questions are often used to stimulate the recall of prior knowledge, promote comprehension, and build critical-thinking skills. There are two of the classifications of questions that can be used in formulating learning objectives, Lower Order Thinking Skills and Higher Order Thinking Skills. Based on the explanation above, this study aimed to investigate the cognit ive domain of Bloom’s Taxonomy Revised used in questions asked by teachers to their students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Source of data in this research was task and test in English subject of grade XI. This study analyzed the teacher’s quest ions of Bloom’s Taxonomy Revision. This study was a descriptive research. As the results, the most frequent cognitive domain used by the teacher in tasks and tests of 127 questions was the domain of LOTS with 52,8% (67 items) and HOTS with 47,2% (60 items), which mostly dominant of LOTS was understanding (C2) and dominant of HOTS was analyze (C4) level.
