Abstract

The use of synthetic fertilizers periodically for a long time with high doses has resulted in decreasing fertility of agricultural land, so that the production of agricultural crops including soybeans continued to decline. On the other hand, the potential agricultural land used for soybean cultivation is still available for example on ultisol The problem is that the low pH causes some nutrients become unavailable for absorb by plant. This study aims to determine the role of cabbage waste as a nutrients substitute for soybean plant in ultisol. The research conducted from February to May 2014, in the Central Seed Horticultural Crops Lubuk Minturun and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Padang State University.. Research using a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were doses of cabbage waste that has been made Bokashi. The dosage consists of 0 g, 70 g, 80g, 90 g, 100 g / polybag and 0.6 g urea / polybag. The variables measured were plant height, leaf number, number of nodules, fresh weight and dry weight of plants. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with DNMRT.The results showed that the application of the cabbage waste in the Bokashi form effect on plant height, leaf number, number of nodules, fresh weight and dry weight of soybean plants. It was concluded that cabbage waste given in the form of Bokashi can be used for substitution of synthetic fertilizers
