Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is the most basic ability that must be possessed by students. But in reality, understanding of the mathematical concepts of students is still relatively low . To overcome these problems, the learning process uses the TAI type of cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study is to describe the differences in understanding mathematical concepts of students learning with TAI type cooperative learning models with students learning with direct learning models and describing the development of mathematical understanding of students learning with tai type cooperative learning models.Based on the results, it is found that the development of students mathematical understanding of concepts increases as long as the TAI type cooperative learning model is applied.So it can be concluded, that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn with the cooperative learning model of the type of TAI is better that those learning with direct learning model.
