Abstract

Students are not optimal actively involved in scientific thinking and reinvent the concept of learning itself. This has caused student’s activities and student outcomes is low. One of the methods to overcome this problem is by developing devices based guided inquiry learning of mathematics in the material system of linear equations and inequalities. The type of this research is the development research by modifying the 4D model, consisting of the definition phase, design phase and the development phase. At the stage of defining phase some analysis are done such as curriculum, students' concepts and student itself. The next stage is design phase and then it is continued by the development phase. In the last stage some activities are done such as evaluation, validation which is done by experts, individual evaluation, the evaluation of small group and large group in class X. This trial was conducted to see the practicality and effectiveness of the lesson equipment. The effectivenes can be seen from the activity and student learning outcomes. The data is analyzed descriptively. The result of this research showed that the lesson equipment base guided inquiry in the material of the system linear equations and inequalities can be declared thas it is valid, practical and effective.
