Abstract

Teachers are professional educators the possession primary task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, train, assess, and evaluate students at elementary and secondary levels of education. Teachers must have a professional qualification and master competencies relevant to teaching subjects. But from the teacher competency test organized by the government found that many teachers who earn less than satisfactory results. Such a situation very closely related to the quality of the input prospective teachers in educational institutions. To produce the highly professional teachers to note that input will be educated to be a teacher. Padang State University is one of the institutions that educate future teachers. New students are accepted through three channels, namely: the invitation (SNMPTN), test path (SBMPTN), and local selection. In recent years the tendency visible difference between the results of the third driveway. For this research study to compare the results of the third driveway. The subjects were students of mathematics education and Science UNP who take advanced calculus courses totaling 74 people. Data were collected by conducting the test three times. The result shows that there are differences in achievement between students who have passed through local selection to SNMPTN and SBMPTN. Meanwhile SNMPTN and SBMPTN there is no significant difference.
