Abstract

There were problems on Basic Programming course at SMK, one other thing is student‘s motivation. This research aimed to develops a supporting instructional media based on educational game to improved that motivatian. So that, the students could improve their outcomes on basic programming. This research used IDI method, which have three procedures, i.e.: define, development and evaluation. The type of data was primary data that was gotten from media expert, lecturer and students. Data were analyse by descriptive technique. It were explained validity, practicality, and effectivity of using the instructional supporting media based game education. The game was made by Role Playing Game Maker VX software. The results shows the media developed was valid (0.810 for design and 0.850 for material subject), practice (i.e. 92,22% based on teacher response, and 80,49%, based on students response), and effective (improves student outcomes from 77,78 before and increase to 85,41 after using it) to used as instructional media on basic programming on Computer and Network Engineering, that could increase students interesting and understanding. So that, it could give the good effect like improved student outcomes and improved students competency.
