Abstract
In this digital age, online media becomes one of the imaging instruments. Everyone who has access to online media has the potential to shape his image, not to mention political officials and politicians. This study analyzes the online media presented by the Governor of West Sumatra, Irwan Prayitno. Researchers use Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) through Murray Edelman's Framing Analysis approach. The data collected for analysis is sourced from the irwan-prayitno.com site. The main question of this research is: How does Irwan Prayitno form his image through the categorization and rubrication depicted from the text and the composition of the rubric in the irwan-prayitno.com online media? The research findings are that Irwan Prayitno consistently preach positive information about his work as Governor. Rubrication is arranged in such a way as to provide information on the performance of the West Sumatra Governor which is full of ideas and work which implies that he is a scientist, educated, active, and religious leader. On the other hand, this site does not provide interactive means of communication such as space for dialogue between the community and the Governor.
