Abstract

Physics as part of science has characteristics as a body of knowledge , a way of thinking, and a way of investigating. In order to implemented all aspects through learning in school, it’s necessary teaching materials that based on physics characteristics. One form of teaching materials is textbook. Through R & D, has developed textbook of physics for senior high school class X based on curriculum 2013 and oriented to content complexity and cognitive process, with the following characteristics: a) discussing four dimensions of knowledge, b) practicing six levels of cognitive process, c) oriented in contextual learning and scientific approach, d) functioning of factual knowledge as learning refrence, e)making conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge as the output through students learning experiences, and f) balancing the achievement of Low Order Thinking with High Order Thinking to level aspects of students cognitive process. The development is done by applied ADDIE model, the development results carried out until the trial limited with involved 4 expert judgments, and concluded that the developed textbook is very decent category and can be implemented in learning physics in school.
