Abstract

This activity aims to introduce science and technology implementation program to youth in village Jaho Kecamatan X Koto Tanah Datar in order to understand the basic concept, screen printing principles / screen printing and development process, help youth develop design, functional, argonomic, aesthetic, and economical. The problem solving framework offered is the provision of materials of design insight and development skills of screen printing / screen printing design. The methods used include lecture method, discussion question, demostration, guided training and recitation. Target audiences are youth dropouts village Jaho who has the basic ability to make design and can use screen printing device, with the amount of 15 person. The end result of the implementation sequence shows that in general there is an increase in design insight. This is judged from the quality of answers given by the youth after joining the presentation of screen printing materials. Furthermore, the enhancement of designing design capabilities by using screen printing equipment is judged by the quality of prints directly on the shirts for use by the typical youth village Jaho Kecamatan X Koto Tanah Datar.
