Abstract

Seismicity issue a compulsory subject for students department civil engineering today, either in the form of special lectures earthquake or integrated with other engineering subjects. To explain the behavior of the earthquake and its impact on the various components of the building structure was not easy, so it requires the tools media that can explain the behavior of theearthquake and its impact on the structure of the building to the students. This study develops Shaking-table as an interactive learning media for earthquake engineering lectures. This type of research is the Research and Development (R & D) with the development procedure using 4-D models which consist of define, design, develop, disseminate. Product testing conducted civil engineering students on FT UGN who are taking courses in earthquake engineering, with the kind of testing validity, effectiveness and practicalities. The results showed that the Shaking-table can function well as an interactive learning media are effective indicators: (a) the validity of media 0,90 (valid); (b) the level of the practicalities of media based on the response of lecturers with a value of 90.77% (very practical), and based on the responses of students score 87% (practical); (c) The level of effectiveness of the media based on the level of mastery learning students after participating in learning by using media amounted to 76.97% (effective). Based on the findings of this study concluded that the media Shaking-table valid, practical, and effective to be used as a medium of learning in earthquake engineering courses.
