Abstract

The main objective in this study was to reveal the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy approaches with the setting groups to increase student learning motivation. This researchuse the experimental research models Pre Exsperiment, design research with The One Group Pretest-Posttest. The subject of the research is grade VIII SMP N 2 Padang Panjang which has a low learning motivation as much as 10 students. Method of data collection using a scale of motivation. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Test and data analysis deskripstif. The results of a Pretest motivational scale there are 3 students are on a category and 7 students are at a low category. The results of the 10 students after Postest given Cognitive Behavioral treatment Therapy changes the average student learning and motivation are at a high category. Wilcoxon test results indicate an average T_hitung = 0.005 < T _ (= tables) 0.05. The results showed that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy effective for improving learning motivation of students.
