Abstract

This research is motivated by the low of the resilience for first year student. Self-concept is factors suspected to affect the resilience of students. The purpose of this research it was to describe the contribution of self-concept to the student resilience. This study uses a quantitative method of descriptive correlational type. The study population are first year student of IAIN Batusangkar totaling 1615 people, the sample amount to 321 people, selected by proportional random sampling technique. The instrument which used is a questionnaire. Data are analyzed with simple regression. The research findings show that 27.9% (R = 0.528, significance 0.000) the student resilience contributes to self-concept.
