Abstract
The background of this research was motivated by still there were students who have not the goal and a clear career planning and the low high school graduates who do not attend school to college. The efforts to improving the students career planning are within information services using problem based learning model. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of information services to improving students career planning. This research uses quantitative methods. This type research was pra experimental design. The subjects were students of SMAN 1 Muara Beliti. The research instrument used PlanK intsrument. The results showed that the information service was effective to improving students career planning. The implication of this research could be considered as an input for designing a guidance and counseling program, especially in the using information service to improving career planning
