Abstract

Entering different cultures enables individuals to become strangers in the culture, where individuals are faced with situations where their habits are in doubt. This can lead to shock (uncertainty) and stress, which can lead to shaken self-concept and individual cultural identity and result in anxiety. This ondition causes most individuals to experience mental and physical disorders, at least for a certain period of time. This new structure will become more visible through emotional and effective experience when interacting with a new culture. The large number of immigrant and out-of-country students who have different cultural backgrounds to study science within the same college environment can lead to unfamiliarity with local culture is a problem that often affects someone in a foreign country. Similarly, what happens to students in the perception of people in his health, so that culture shock happens because it does not understand the differences in the characteristics of other individuals from the perspective of others. Culture shock is a phenomenon that will be experienced by everyone who traverses from one culture to another as a reaction when moving and living with people of different clothing, tastes, values, even languages with that person.
